“I enjoy hand building with clay and creating forms that call to be held. I love how hand-formed surfaces catch the light at unexpected moments! Clay is my canvas for expressing elements of place and human yearning for connection with nature. I invite you to take pleasure in the tiny forms and structures that collectively make our surroundings familiar, to see the art in the ordinary weathered surfaces we routinely rush by. My practice is slow and meditative. I hope this calm that I experience is imbued in my art. Originally from tropical Singapore, I now live on Orcas Island in Washington state, where I established the Felt + Ceramics Studio with a fiber artist in 2014. Visit my studio in Eastsound or online.”
