After years of classical watercolor painting, I was restless and stuck (if you can feel both at the same time!), so I plunged into abstracts, acrylics and oils....VOILA!...a fresh start, a new begininning, a re-wiring of the synapses!

Despite no academic art training, as fate would have it, just the right teacher seems to have always popped up for me at just the right moment. My serious painting addiction began on my 44th birthday with an intro to watercolors class taught by the inestimable Caroline Buchanan. An award-winning watercolorist and gifted teacher, Caroline continues to be my guiding light and mentor whispering in my ear. Over the years, she has instilled in me the fundamentals that have brought me to my current joyful state of wherever I am going with this art thing.  If you ever want to learn how to draw, understand color and composition, have fun with watercolors - look her up.

Then - just when I was ready to sell my paint tubes and brushes on EBay, Gwen Fox appeared on my radar. For the last few years, this talented, accomplished painter and coach has guided me into the world of abstracts. She taught me to "see shapes, not things." And along the way, I had the opportunity to work with Jeannie McGuire, whose innovative process elevated me to new heights.

My pathway doesn't fit into the standard "artist bio and awards" slot, I know.  But it is MY pathway.
