“I am a man sculpting my way through time… Deep Time, that is. I study and experience the world of Deep Time; through sculpting stone from across our planet’s 4.5-billion-year history. My sculptures have fascinating geologic creation stories, which are reflected in their composition, from multi-mineral igneous and metaphoric rock to fossiliferous sedimentary stone containing traces of ancient life. I direct carve; first imagining, then adapting my designs as I come to understand what the stone can offer. Platonic forms and geometric abstract shapes are my most compelling sculptures.”
