“Art is a process of making visible what has been invisible. This is the mission of my portraits: to reveal the most vulnerable part of our bodies as women, and offer a different perspective. Both for each woman individually and for the world at large. Most of my paintings are private commissions. Behind each portrait is a woman and her life journey. Within each painting is the healing of shame and trauma, a release of old stories that have been written on and in her body. It is making visible parts of her that have been hidden deep inside. My mission is to bring the Vulva and all that she represents, out of the shadows, and into the light, where it belongs. I paint with watercolor. I adore how it can be both bold and watery. Shadowy and light. It feels like a reflection of what Vulva is. Both fearless and fluid. With the possibility of ultimate pleasure and deepest wounding. I paint ritually, infusing each woman's story, intentions, and desires into the painting. The art encourages women to uncover hidden parts, both physically and emotionally and invites them into the light of self-acceptance and self-love. The portrait process is a walk of courage and healing with a beautiful art piece at the end saying- look at how beautiful you are. This is you. You are art. No matter the pain, trauma, or shame, you have gone through, you are art, beautiful, raw, and powerful. The portraits are an initiation. They are bold, edgy, and to some, may even be confrontive. They are one woman's story, and the story of all women, from pain to power."
