Bruce Wilson

205 Myers Street

Landscape painter, designer, and illustrator Bruce Wilson was born in Los Angeles in 1948. Raised in Hollywood and later in Pasadena, California he is now a full time resident of Orcas Island, Washington. He studied fine art under Daryl Ebert in Huntington Beach and later at Art Center College of Design under Lorser Feitelson. He first specialized in figure drawings and portraiture; however in 2005, after running an advertising agency for 30 years, he has turned his full attentions to painting and was awarded an honorary doctorate from Art Center College. Bruce has been experimenting with mixing pigments and oil pastels into creamy consistencies and applying them to smooth gessoed surfaces under different thermal conditions. His landscapes have taken on an impressionist/surrealist feel. Bruce Wilson is a member of the Pasadena Society of Artists, California Art Club, and MAFA. His work has been shown at The One Show (New York Museum of Modern Art) and the American Artist Magazine Show. “I have been exploring the relationships between sea, sky, and land. I love to see people create clarity and meaning from my quick impressions.”
