βThe interplay of stillness and movement is at the core of my love of sculpting. I see my work as aesthetic engines radiating aliveness and delight in being. The current series of nature spirits is inspired by the sensual forms of the local madrona trees. I rearrange, carve, and joint these branches, then apply a skin of my handmade flax fiber paper. With this colorful banding, I play with sequence, rhythm and flow, inviting the eyes and spirit along the serpentine curves.β
