“Landscape photography is my way of engaging with the earth by observing, witnessing, and interpreting how light brings the forms of Earth to life. I never look so closely at the world as when I have a camera in hand. Printing the images later in the darkroom with an antiquated process reengages me with the subject in an intimate way. Black and white images seem to distill the subject to its simplest texture, form, and essence. Having spent the last 50 years chasing the light, trying to perfect my craft, and refining my style, I still feel there is much more to learn and do.”
