Margaret Schafer and Ben Straub are the artisans behind Ibis Element, creating handmade jewelry in bronze, brass, sterling, and gold. Ibis Element earrings, pendants, rings, and pins evoke styles of antiquity and often feature insects and birds. Margaret’s passion lies in hand-carving figurative pieces, while Ben brings both carving talent as well as decades of experience in lathe work to their designs. All their work is created using the lost wax casting method and they finish the pieces in their home studio.
